How hot is the sun and why does it feel like a lie?

How hot is the sun and why does it feel like a lie?
The sun’s surface is 5,500°C and its core is 15 million°C. Like, what? That’s hotter than anything we’ve ever made on Earth. How is that even possible?

I remember learning this in school and just staring at the textbook like, “nope, that’s not real.” Like, how does something that hot even *exist* without burning everything to a crisp? And don’t even get me started on solar flares—giant explosions bigger than Earth.

Anyone else’s brain just short-circuit over space facts? What’s the most mind-blowing thing you’ve learned lately?

first time posting but i feel you on this sun thing, it's like, we're constantly being told not to look directly at it because it's 5500c and that's, like, insane, but honestly it feels kinda... distant? like it's not even that real to us.

Wait, so the sun’s *surface* is that hot but the core’s like millions? How does that even work? 😂

The core’s hot enough to turn hydrogen into existential dread 😭

Lol bro the sun is literally a giant nuclear explosion and we’re just vibing under it like it’s a tanning lamp *(edited)*

sure, and the moon’s just a rock we put a flag on, but the sun’s just vibing at millions of degrees like it’s no big deal tbh 👀

First time posting here but the sun’s surface is like 5,500°C and the core is *millions*—which is why it feels like someone just made up those numbers to mess with us.

Surprised no one's mentioned "5,500 degrees Celsius".

So you're telling me the sun is 10,000°F on the surface and millions INSIDE, but I still can't look at it without squinting? What's the deal with that?

Oh please, the sun’s a blazing 5,500°C nuclear furnace and you’re out here doubting it LIKE it’s some TikTok conspiracy. 💀

First time posting here but I've been stuck on this exact question for as long as I've been able to see the sun - it just can't feel that hot, you know? My sister Anna says it's because we're used to the cold Arendelle summers, but I think there's something more to it

Man, the sun is like 15 million degrees at its core and we’re just out here slathering on SPF 50 like it’s some kind of flex *(edited)*
